Measuring Quality and Safety

Measurement of key performance indicators is an important part of Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital's quality and safety improvement program.  All hospital programs and departments are expected to measure processes and outcomes on a regular basis.  Results are reported to the JBMH Quality Council, chaired by the President and CEO.

We are also pleased to comply with the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care's initiative requiring Ontario hospitals to report results for key patient safety indicators to the public.  You will find links to our most recent patient safety indicator results immediately below.  Results will open in a graph format (.pdf) in a new window.  You may need to scroll down or resize the .pdf to see the data.

We'll update our results as soon as new data are  available, in compliance with Ministry of Health and Long Term Care directions.  This page was last updated on August 17, 2010 with new information about the Hospital Standardized Mortality Ratio and C. difficile, MRSA, VRE and Surgical Site Infection rates.
